DDD - Offline Conversion Services

Since 1993, DDD has provided 2D to 3D conversion services for Hollywood studios and advertisers.

Entertainment companies are interested in different ways of earning revenue from their properties, and advertisers are always interested in the most eye-catching displays for retail or trade shows.

Over the years, we have made the process increasingly cost effective by perfecting our toolkit (TriDef Photo Transformer™,TriDef Movie Transformer™ , Shot Breaker™, and Depth Tweener™) which allows our artists, animators, and technicians to use computer analysis to divide video into discrete sequences that need to be handled separately for 3D enhancement.

From there, we use additional software tools to add depth to key frames. Computer algorithms compute and encode depth information for entire lengthy sequences based on the key frames. Next, our animators design and add CG off-screen effects for maximum impact on the viewer. Finally, the piece is rendered in whatever format is appropriate for the viewing technology; typically projectors or large plasma displays. The process is very similar for stills, animation, and CGI content.

DDD has worked with Hollywood studios like IMAX, Dreamworks, and nWave to provide the most entertaining and extraordinary 3D effects for theatre viewing. For advertising and retail purposes, we have partnered with Boeing, Merck, SeaDoo and other large corporations for attention-grabbing 3D displays.
