DDD recognizes that open formats are important for the widespread adoption of 3-D in the home. Together with our support for open standards, DDD also advocates that 3-D images are compatible with existing 2D display and transmission technologies. We continue to develop 2D-compatible 3-D formats that deliver high quality results for both 2D and 3-D audiences.

The value of our approach is demonstrated by our invited participation from standards bodies and forums including SMPTE and the 3D@Home consortium, led by the key consumer entertainment and electronics vendors. These organizations have requested our input in defining future media formats and standards applicable to 3-D in the home.

Our real-time 2-D to 3-D conversion technologies also allow for real-time adjustment of the 3-D effect by the viewer for their own comfort. 3-D viewing parameters can be adjusted easily at the touch of a button.
