I just received my starter pack. I cannot view the setup screen small enough to start setup. Any suggestions?
Also do I have to use a DVI/HDMI cable + stereo cable instead of an HDMI cable only (I have sound through the HDMI cable)?
What do you exactly do to watch a movie? Do you just play the DVD like you normally would?
My nvidia card (GT 220 - 1GB) does not have a any scalling options other than resizing. My screen is oversized. I am using 1920 x 1080 P on my 67 in Samsung DLP. Any suggestions?
I have Corel intervideo installed, but not recognized by software.
I have windows 7-32 bit installed. There is no win 7 listed in the compatiblity options. I thought Windows 7 was supported?
Some sort of documention would have nice other than how to install.

Hi RGH,

I am not sure what you mean by "I cannot view the setup screen small enough to start setup". Did you run the "TriDef Display Setup" from the installer? Did it detect your Samsung DLP correctly? Did you get the 3D menu that had options like "Play 3D Games", "View movies and photos in 3D"? If not it may have failed to recognise your TV as a supported model. If so, first make sure you set the right display profile: run TriDef Control Panel and select "Samsung 3-D Ready DLP". Then double-click "TriDef 3D Experience" icon from the desktop to launch the 3D menu.

If you want to play any media file in 3D simply right-click on the media file and select "Play with TriDef 3D Media Player" on the context menu. This also works for DVD playback, right click on the drive.

Hi Julien,

I did the installation as directed. I do see the 3D menu that had options like "Play 3D Games", "View movies and photos in 3D". When I choose view movies and direct to location of DVD player, nothing happens.
When I right-click and choose to "play w/ tr-def M. player", I get a message saying that I do not have a compatible decoder. I just purchased the WinDVD pro v. 10 ($75 including Fedex) for nothing.
I now connected the PC using a DVI/HDMI instead of HDMI-HDMI (had sound)and coonected a RCA from PC to TV and I am getting no sound now.
When I click on utilities\setup, I cannot navigate because the window is ovwersized. All I can see is "Do you want to run Set...". I triec reducing the resolution from 1920x1080 to 800x600 and everything in between and that did not help.
I will install the free decoder (Video and audio) and see what happens.
Questions:
-Can I just play the DVD like normal, or do I always have to choose the tri-Def media player?
-Do you have any suggestions also on how to reduce the image, everything is off scale. There is no "over or under scalling" options anywhere.
-Should I uninstall the software, install the free decoders and reinstall? or the tri-Def software will recognize the new decoders?
-Do I need to uninstall the WinDVD software or it does not matter if there is more than one on the PC?
-Can I use the HDMI-HDMI cable or do I have to use the DVI-HDMI cable?
Here is my setup:
AMD 64 X2 4400
4 Gb Ram
Nvidia GT220 w/ 1 Gb memory
67 in Samsung DLP
Win 7 Ultinate - 32-bit
PC connected directly to TV, no monitor
3D use for movies only.

Thank you very much. I am Looking forward to getting this work

Hi RGH,

We have a page dedicated to customers using Samsung 3D Ready DLP and PDP models:

http://www.tridef.com/support/samsung-info.html

Or for those with the new range of 3D LED HDTVs:

http://www.tridef.com/support/samsung-LED-info.html

To watch the DVDs in 3D using your 3D Starter Pack, you need to play the DVD in your PC using TriDef Media Player - either from the menu or by using Windows Explorer and right-click "Play with TriDef 3D Media Player".

As the instructions specify, you need a supported DVD Decoder:

http://www.tridef.com/support/dvd-decoders.html

Please note that WinDVD version 6-9 are supported - no later versions are supported due to technical reasons. You can have several supported DVD Decoders on your PC, but most customers seems to install the freeware MPV and MPA Decoders. Although they are a bit trickier to install, they are free and we have a FAQ specifically related to this, as specified at the bottom of the link.

I hope this gets you started - if you have and specific questions, please send us an e-mail.

-TriDefSupport.
