how would i go about getting the tv into 1:1?

it seems that brightness and sharpness play a major roll in this WOrking.

put LARGE TV in picture mode. it'll display the 1080P resolution (it's normal that the image is slightly larger than the screen)

you'll have a 1:1 ratio on the TV. then look in your video card driver settings and make sure there's no overscan or underscan. like in my picture.

you might has the older version of catalyst but the options are the same, make sure there's NO scaling, and you checked the option "Maintain aspect ratio"

Just updated the drivers and everything is still working I guess..

as Far as that picture and the 1:1 the picture still looks the same.

but im getting decent results with Tv in movie mode with the sharpness turned WAAAAY down and the brightness down a little too..

is this how it should be ?

I just wanted to check back in with what i have found.

its been almost a year since i bought the glass's and I can now say that I have them working like they should be.

it appears that the samsung tvs are a little weird..

When you Set the name for hte input from anything other then PC to TV.. something happens ..

When its on PC i way able to choose wide TV or WIDE PC. Soon as i hit WIDE TV. it all started to work.

seems that the ghosting and the glass's never working are due to this settings on the samsung tv. I really think we all need to check into this. since I would have never thought that the tv makes profiles based on the name you set to the input from the menu >

Hey that is great news! Sorry it was so frustrating for you, but I hope this thread can help people with similar problems. Now you can get on with the fun stuff - movies and games in 3D!

Well guys I just wanted to say Happy thanksgiving to everyone first off.

The setup worked as Expected and tested Weeks before I had A reunion party at my house the past two weeks.

in that time i have Decided to order a copy of the Haunted Castle on Dvd

I wanted to see it as Clear as I could. As I wont lie the Version that I had found laying Around on the internet Was rather Crappy with Almost no Detail.

I figured that it Would make the 3d Effect over all better since it will be the Original from the imax DVD release

It says it comes with 2d version and 3d Version. But i wanted to ask if anyone has had an experence with this dvd and there set up. and also What you find is the best clips to Really Show off the whole set up ?

What Would you Suggest ?

Its been a while since I was on here and thought that I would stop by.

have to say its great to see that 3d is starting to really take off.

I just wanted to express that ever since i got a good HDMI cable and found the trick with the tv. (Setting The input name of HDMI to PC will change timings)

its all been Working perfect.

no more ghosting.. no more out of sync. works like it should. As Far as The settings and what Not I have to say it was a pain getting it all to work and at times I still think that its more so about the Fact that there are not many HD 3d Samples that run at 1080p to try.

I guess that should all change soon. The one clip that was 1080p that I found was of some Race Car video. Was just a sample but was HD and 1080p and let me tell it was Awesome.

I wanted to ask is there anyway that We Can Run any Current blurays or dvds that might be out that are 3d? or do we have to wait for Avatar to hit before testing something like that out?

one thing that I have noticed and I don't mean to talk down about tridef but are all glass's the same as far as when I turn 3d on it kinda blurs the detail and washes out the colors a little.

I just cant see all the major companies pushing this as mainstream if all the people have to Bang there heads trying to get it working. I would assume That the there version will be a little different or maybe a lot better ?

vintendo, as far as 1080p movies go, check out 3d underground and my3d2u. i got final destination, journey to the center of the earth, corraliine, bobs big break, and polar express in 1080p above/below format and they are awesome. i still cannot get my samsung dlp to go into 3d mode in 1080p. my service request ended by the tech saying ati cards have trouble with 1080p. i will try a better hdmi cord this weekend. hope you find these movies to work out for you.
