I didn't figure this out until just now, but I discovered a few things that were extremely suprising to me and thought I'd share them here. It might not be new information to most, but some mind find it helpful. If you have an Nvidia card with Nvidia Stereo 3D support, if you enable Nvidia Stereo 3D in the Nvidia Control Panel and check "Hide stereoscopic 3D effects when game starts" then start up a game with Tridef 3D, you will have an increase of 10 to 40 frames per second in game. With Nvidia 3D Turned Off, I get an fps of 5 with Crysis on high settings using Tridef 3D, that's without performance mode on. With Nvidia 3D running I get an increase of 15 - 35 frames per second without performance mode on. As long as you have Nvidia 3D off, but enabled in the control panel you will see a huge difference in performance.

UPDATE: To have the 3D stereo settings in the control panel, you have to go to www.nvidia.com, then download drivers then choose 3D vision. Then just select the options for your system and card, download, and install. Then Stereoscopic settings should be in the control panel.

I have confirmed that this tweak indeed increases the frame rate of the game. Good find. Still do not know why there is unnecessary slow down in NVIDIA graphics driver when NVIDIA Stereo 3D is disabled.

Yes, there is a perfomance increase with Nvidia Stereo 3D turned on but I thought I should mention this as well. When Nvidia Stereo 3D is turned on the Normal 3D mode has a much better frame rate but the Performance mode has a much worse framerate. When Nvidia Stereo 3D is turned off that is reversed. If anyone confirms this please post.

It works for me! Thanx. Now I don't have to play Batman:Arkham Asylum in Virtual mode anymore. There's just one glitch. Everytime I get hit by a bad guy my FOV changes for a few seconds.

I haven't played that game, but there are some glitches in most games when not in performance mode. This could be a problem with your game configuration, try going into the games Video Settings menu, if there is any way to adjust post processing effects there might be a blur when you are hit that is not compatible in 3D. Try adjusting different video settings in the game menu, or you can fix this a lot of times by going into the tridef in game menu, then go into 3d, then choose custom focus, make sure Zone is on scene and try the different focus modes. Do the same for Zone gun if that doesn't work. If neither of them work restore them the way they were, make sure to remember before adjusting, and then go back to the first menu. Now go to options, and then 3D Object Detection. Try the different modes here, mode 2 is best for Crysis, but I'm not sure for other games. In Performance mode sometimes this glitch is caused by GUI detection being too aggressive or not aggressive enough, that is in the options menu.
