DDD and Condor Triumph at AIM Awards

Condor Resources (CNR), Petra Diamonds (PDL) and DDD Group (DDD) were among the winners at the 16th AIM Awards in London on Thursday evening.

Sponsored by PricewaterhouseCoopers, the awards identified the quoted companies and entrepreneurs who have “harnessed AIM to help them fulfil their ambition and growth potential in the last twelve months”.

The event saw saw 1,300 guests in attendance, as AIM rewarded outstanding achievement by firms quoted on the index. Representatives from AIM-quoted companies and their advisers; from brokers to accountants, lawyers and public and investor relations firms, were all present.

Condor Resources, NWF Group (NWF) and Daisy Group (DAY) scooped up the ‘best performing share’, ‘best communication’ and the ‘best use of AIM’ awards respectively.

The ‘best technology’ award was received by DDD Group. ‘AIM transaction of the year’ and the ‘best research’ awards were won by Petra Diamonds (PDL) and Edison Investment Research respectively, while Skywest Airlines (SKYW) and Smart Metering Systems (SMS) triumphed in the ‘international company of the year’ and ‘best newcomer’ awards.

May Gurney Integrated Services (MAYG) prevailed in the ‘company of the Year’ category.

Victory for the ‘entrepreneur of the year’ award was handed to Nick Robertson, chief executive of ASOS (ASC). ASOS won the ‘company of the year’ award in 2010.
