Australia maybe on the other side of the earth but there are interesting innovations happening in the land of Kangaroos and Koalas. There is a local Australian company based in WA (Western Australia) called DDD that has developed software solution converting media files, videos and photos to 3D. The solution not only available on PC platform but it is also available in mobile space called ‘TriDef 3D Mobile’ and designed specifically for Android based smartphones and tablets. Here is what the website got to say about the product
Targeted at Android based smart phones and tablets, it automatically converts video and photo content from 2D to 3D for the latest glasses-free 3D mobile displays. DDD works closely with mobile application processor manufacturers to optimize performance and licenses the TriDef 3D Mobile solution to handset makers. 3D mobile phones and tablets have already been announced by the world’s leading manufacturers, including Sharp, LG and HTC. 3D mobile is coming soon to your hands.
Pretty awesome isnt’ it ?. According to their latest news release dated July 13,2011
DDD Group plc (AIM: DDD, ‘the Group’), the 3D solutions company, has signed a two-year license agreement with a leading mobile phone manufacturer to bundle DDD’s TriDef® 3D conversion software products with the manufacturer’s latest ‘glasses-free’ 3D smartphones.
This means that in future 3D feature will not be an optional feature but will be the stock standard feature for Android powered smartphones. This will enable games and content developers to create application in 3D without worrying about the nitty gritty of 3D development, this will also increase the number 3D Android application as developers will find it more easier to develop for 3D contents.
